Chateau Grand Traverse is a Michigan winery located in the Old Mission Peninsula AVA around Traverse City. The winery was founded by Edward O’Keefe Jr. and is notable for having the first large-scale planting of Vitis vinifera in Michigan. We invite you to visit our tasting room to taste our award-winning wines and enjoy the breathtaking views that brought us here over 40 years ago.We offer complimentary tours of our facility, which will give you a brief overview of the history of the Northern Michigan wine industry, and will take through the winemaking process from harvest to bottling. Tours average 30 minutes. Please note: All tours are subject to cancellation during special winery events.Our regular wines range in price from around $ 9.00 to $ 25.00 and we offer quantity discounts. Certain specialty or rare wines can be considerably higher. We are often noted for offering excellent wines, great service and very reasonable prices. We also have a fantastic assortment of high-quality foods, wine paraphernalia, glassware, trinkets and specialty items. Many guests comment on the quality and variety of items we offer. Well behaved kids are always welcome on the grounds but need to be closely attended to by parents at all times. We do not have a playground or offer activities for children, so please consider bringing quiet activities to keep them entertained. Children are allowed in the winery and on our tours. Anyone under the age of 21 cannot drink, even with a parent’s consent. We also cannot allow children to be at the bar during tastings. You are more than welcome to bring your pet along, as long as it is on a leash and you pick up after it. Please respect, however, that no pets are allowed inside the winery, tasting room or on the Patio. Of course we will accommodate any assistance dogs.
